Inflatable Pool Buying Guide

Your inflatable Swimming Pool Buying Guide
This guide to buying an inflatable swimming pool should answer any questions you have about your new purchase.
About Inflatable Swimming Pools

  • An inflatable pool works by INFLATING A RING AROUND THE TOP and then filling it with water.  The natural buoyancy of the ring then lifts with the level of the water, and so as the level rises, so does the wall, giving you your pool.  It's a SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE design, and means that whenever you've finished with it, you can simply drain it and stow it away.   This frees your garden as opposed to having a permanent feature all year round.

Inflatable Swimming Pool Sizes

  • Before you buy a new inflatable swimming pool you should CONSIDER THE SPACE THAT WILL BE USED when setting it up. Inflatable pools do range in size so take some time to read the product descriptions to get measurements and check that it will fit in your garden.
  • Here are the most popular pool sizes:

8ft Inflatable swimming pools (96 inches / 244 centimeters)
10ft Inflatable swimming pools (120 inches / 304 centimeters)
12ft Inflatable swimming pools (144 inches / 366 centimeters)
Accessories
There's a whole range of accessories available for inflatable swimming pools.

  • BREATHABLE GROUNDSHEETS

These are often over-looked when buying a new pool. These types of groundsheets make a gap between the pool and your grass allowing the sunlight in. This prevents the grass from dying if the pool is setup for a long period of time.

  • SWIMMING POOL COVERS

A swimming pool cover will stop any GRASS, DEBRIS, or BUGS getting into the pool while it's not in use. If your pool doesn't come with a cover you can get them separately, just make sure to check the size when you order so you get the right one.

  • SOLAR POOL COVERS

These covers are different to a standard pool cover. Instead of fitting around the top ring of the pool, these covers float on top of the water and RETAIN HEAT ATTAINED BY THE SUN.

  • FILTER PUMPS

Although this isn't an essential piece of kit it can be very useful. It's surprising how quickly an inflatable swimming pool can become dirty so having an external filter pump will keep the pool CLEAR OF ANY GRIME.

  • INFLATABLE POOL HEATERS

Usually an inflatable pool will use a 3kw heater. Unfortunately they don't turn your new pool into a budget hot tub but they will take the CHILL OFF THE WATER so you can make the most of your pool even when it gets a bit chilly in the evenings.

  • POOL LADDERS / STEPS

These are a great idea if you have young children using the pool. They simply STAND OVER THE SIDE of the swimming pool and provide a safe way for them out get in and out of the water without putting any pressure on the sides. Check the height of your pool before you purchase a ladder to make sure it is tall enough.
